16 Photos to Inspire You to Visit Mljet | Croatia
An island within an island
This forested thirty seven square mile island northwest of Dubrovnik is home to two salted lakes, one of which charmingly contains a 12th century Benedictine Monastery. Easily accessed by a two hour ferry from Dubrovnik, the larger island, which is home to Mljet National Park, makes for a beautiful day trip or as a stop along an Adriatic sailing adventure.
With no motorized vehicles allowed inside the park, we recommend renting a bike from one of the many bike rental shops and exploring the tree lined paths along the lakes, and stopping for lunch at the Restaurant Melita. Bring your bathing suit for a dip at Mali Most and enjoy a relaxing day in nature on this beautiful island.
