Lodging Review | ACE Hotel Portland
WHAT: ACE HOTEL PORTLAND
WHEN: LATE SUMMER
WHERE: PORTLAND, OREGON
PRICE: ~$125-$250 DEPENDING ON TIMING
Overview
Located in the West End district of downtown Portland, the ACE Hotel exists inside the old renovated Clyde Hotel - centrally located with loads of great, boutique shopping in walking distance and restaurant options galore. Bikes are available (for free!) on a first come, first serve basis for hotel guests and provide the perfect Portland transportation option.
While the rooms are small, they make up for it with their impeccable design which is a mix of army, turn of the century, and hipster. The beds are comfortable and the mini bar is stocked with local treats and treasures if you feel like staying in. In the mornings, you can step across the lobby threshold into Stumptown coffee for some of their famous cold brew and for at least one evening, we recommend dining at the attached restaurant downstairs, Clyde Common.
Beyond the actual hotel, we loved it's proximity to so many of the things that make downtown Portland a destination - Powell's Books, locally owned boutiques, and restaurants serving up some of the best food we've ever had the pleasure of tasting.
5 out of 5 stars on all fronts for ACE Hotel Portland! See more images from our visit below.
